Dear Brian,
It is truly amazing how so many educated people can be so easily decieved. The politically correct crowd would like for us to believe that Islam is a great religion and one of peace. Nothing could be further from the truth.
This letter is not a message of peace and love. It is an ultimatum for Christians to change their beliefs and come around to their way of thinking, or face the end of the world.
They tell us that Allah and our God are the same thing. My God has a Son who came to Earth to save us. Allah has no such son. The letter repeatedly tells us that God has no associate, in other words no son. The teachings of the Quran and the Bible have vast differences, yet they want us to believe that Allah and my God are one in the same, a big ommision that they would rather not talk about.
The Muslins try to tell us about the Ten commandments, about loving God and loving our neighbor. The catch is that we have to do so on their terms. I have news for the folks at Yale and those who have signed on to this letter: Jesus is not disposable. Christians cannot be told by Muslims what Jesus is, and that he is not associated with God. The love of neighbors by Muslims is conditional. Those who do not succomb to the beliefs of the Muslims are not tolerated. We are told in the letter that if "Common Ground" is not reached, it will mean the end of the world. The Christians of the world have no plans for war against those who do not believe as we do. Islamic extremists are planning the extermination of those who do not believe as they do, until none are left. The author of this letter is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
This letter is not only a slap in the face to Christians, it is against the freedom of religion this country was founded on.
Thanks for bringing this letter, and the politically correct response from New Haven to our attention. I will do my best to spread the word.
